Scholarship Fund
Our HMCOI would like to start an educational/scholarship fund for post
secondary students to help orphans reach their full potential to become
productive and influencial for Christ in their communities.
Since most of our orphans in Ghana are at an elementary level we would like to
start with a young man named Illiya Hassan from Magam, Nigeria. Here is his
story.
Llliya is the oldest of 5 siblings who through a tragic motor accident lost both
parents . His deceased Mother, Salame who was pregnant at the time and his
father Hassan were killed April 11 2007 shortly after attending a joyous naming
celebration with family and friends. Hasaini the twin brother of the deceased
took in his brother's orphans to be part of his family which brought the family to
12 children ranging in ages 5 to 18 years.
The main concern for the new blended family is the financal ability to educate
each child to his/her potential with limited resources. Illiya is a bright young
man, completing secondary school, whose dream is to be a nurse and help many
people. By sending financial assistance to him and other orphans we can make
an investment into their lives that will have multifold blessings not only now but
for years and generations to come.
Hands of Mercy is pleased to have designated Rev, Samaila Sallau ,ECWA's
chair for Kano as our representative in Nigeria ,who comes highly
recommended for his integrity and administrative abilities.
If the Lord lays it on your heart to be a blessing to Illiya, or others like him you
may donate by clicking unto Canada Helps and designating your gift to
educational/scholarship fund and specify Illiya Nigeria
Thank you for your prayers and support
Pastor Deborah.
