Hands of Mercy Christian Outreach Children's Mission
Hands of Mercy Christian Outreach Children’s homes were founded by Deborah MacQuarrie
and a group of others in Canada and the US, in 2004. HMCOI is a non-profit Christian Charity
committed to the rescue of orphaned and abandoned children in Africa. The impacting of
communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ... through the construction of Christ-based children's
homes in the developing world
The HMCOI Children’s Homes are established to provide a safe and caring environment for
children who have been left homeless, abandoned, or abused. The homes will be designed to
provide a loving surrounding, adequate food, shelter, adult supervision, and a loving family for the
children to be a part of. A strong Christian foundation has been established to provide for the
children's spiritual needs as well as their physical needs. There are millions of children in the world
today who have the need for care and attention. We help provide for some of these children. We
do this by placing these children in our family home, staffed by our loving helpers. Our goal is to
raise these children in a family environment where God is real in their every day lives. With Godly
staff as an example and daily teaching of Gods morals and values, we believe these children will be
healed from past hurts to become the future leaders of tomorrow. This is all accomplished
through love, prayer, devotion and sacrifice. Simply stated, we believe the Christian family is the
unit in which God blesses, heals, and ministers to these children. We will always make sure to
keep close personal touch between the children and ourselves as well as the “parents” of the child.
Hands of Mercy Christian Outreach Children’s homes is a non- profit making organization
registered with the Register Generals Department under the company’s code 1963 (Act 179) of
the Republic of Ghana. . It is also registered with the Department of Social Welfare with a sole
objective of creating home and hope for homeless, poor, destitute, less privileged children.
Those of us who care are like parents to a fatherless generation. Our Orphans unjustly suffer for
committing the crime which so often carries a life sentence, the crime of simply being born into
poverty. How long will our soil be soaked with tears of dying Orphans who cry merely for the
right to survive? Today each and everyone one of us has the opportunity to become a Hero to our
helpless Orphans and show them that good men and women still care. We are currently in the
process of opening a home in Uganda. We have things on the go in Burundi, Ethiopia and Kenya.

Our mission is to glorify God; and in response to the Scriptures and the Spirit's leading, to
address the spiritual depravity of mankind and the needs of the whole person by corporate
and individual action, example and proclamation, with the aim to leading individuals into an
understanding and invitation of Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. Then, through a
process of prayer, encouragement and biblical instruction, prepare believers to serve God
according to God's gifting.

Four Fold Purpose and Vision: To Teach the Message of Salvation, Healing, Deliverance,
and Revival to the Hurting of Humanity :
To promote Bible Education with the anointing of the Holy Spirit for all who seek it.
To Look beyond the local context, to encourage and support evangelism and Christian
humanitarian aid throughout the world.
To Help individuals to see themselves as God sees them. To encourage people to seek God
in their gifted areas and to flow in those areas.
To be in touch with our society, and to provide relevant answers and alternatives to real-life
issues, to be bold enough to take action when required.
To be a haven of rest and healing for the weary, particularly in the context of counseling and
prayer.
To accept people at face value and to care for each other as part of a family of believers;
and to encourage each other to become connected with and share in the lives of others.
To Continue to promote freedom in style and expression of worship with emphasis on
celebration and reverence.
To have in place the infrastructure of sound administration and accountability to be ready to
respond to changing needs within the ministry and use our physical and personal resources to
meet those needs.

Essential Beliefs
We are confident that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God.
We acknowledge the Creator --- God as our heavenly Father, infinitely perfect, and
intimately acquainted with all our ways.
We claim Jesus Christ as Lord --- the very God who came in human flesh --- the object of
our worship and the subject of our praise.
We recognize the Holy Spirit as the third member of the Godhead, incessantly at work
convicting, convincing, and comforting.
We believe that Adam's fall into sin left humanity without the hope of heaven apart from a
new birth, made possible by the Savior's death and bodily resurrection.
We believe the offer of salvation is God's love-gift to all. Those who accept it by faith, apart
from works, become new creatures in Christ.
We believe that anyone who trusts in Christ by faith is a new creation in Him --- clothed in
His righteousness and fully loved and accepted by God.
We believe that God expects our lives to reflect that we belong to Him and that we are
pursuing a holy life.
We believe that Satan, under the sovereign permission of God, tries to destroy the faith of
believers and that drawing near to God is the only way to resist him.
We believe that as new creations in Christ we will continue to wrestle with our sin nature. We
will, however, continue to grow in grace and become more like Jesus. Ultimate perfection
and freedom from sin, however, will only come when we finally stand in the presence of the
Lord.
We believe that, as believers in Jesus Christ, we are members of His universal church and
that the local church is the place God has designed for His people to worship Him, observe
the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Table, and love other Christians.
We believe that, having embraced Jesus Christ by faith, we are to make Him known to non-
Christians in our sphere of influence.
We anticipate our Lord's promised return in power and glory.
We are convinced that all who have died will be brought back from beyond --- believers to
everlasting communion with God and unbelievers to everlasting separation from God.
